No more confusion!

You now have a choice, to choose the good (the Book of Mormon), and refuse the evil (all added "doctrine").

Polygamy

God speaks very strongly against polygamy in Jacob 2:22-27.

22 And now I make an end of speaking unto you concerning this pride. And were it not that I must speak unto you concerning a grosser crime, my heart would rejoice exceedingly because of you.

23 But the word of God burdens me because of your grosser crimes. For behold, thus saith the Lord: This people begin to wax in iniquity; they understand not the scriptures, for they seek to excuse themselves in committing whoredoms, because of the things which were written concerning David, and Solomon his son.

24 Behold, David and Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord.

25 Wherefore, thus saith the Lord, I have led this people forth out of the land of Jerusalem, by the power of mine arm, that I might raise up unto me a righteous branch from the fruit of the loins of Joseph.

26 Wherefore, I the Lord God will not suffer that this people shall do like unto them of old.

27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none;

Book of Mormon
God also speaks against polygamy in Jacob 1:15, and Jacob 3:5.

1:15 “…began to grow hard in their hearts, and indulge themselves somewhat in wicked practices, such as like unto David of old desiring many wives…”

3:5 “Behold, the Lamanites your brethren, whom ye hate because of their filthiness and the cursing which hath come upon their skins, are more righteous than you; for they have not forgotten the commandment of the Lord, which was given unto our father—that they should have save it were one wife,…”

God showed how to deal with more women than men in Mosiah 21:17.

“Now there was a great number of women, more than there was of men; therefore king Limhi commanded that every man should impart to the support of the widows and their children, that they might not perish with hunger; and this they did because of the greatness of their number that had been slain.”

New Testament
Paul's letter to Timothy defines the qualifications to be a bishop and decon, and polygamy excludes one from this office. 1 Timothy, chapter 3:

2 “A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;”

12 “Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.”

Temple Works

Nowhere does Christ or God the Father command temple activities post-resurrection of Christ.
New Testament
Only Mosiac Law practices are performed by those under the law.

New Testament authors write that we are not under the Mosaic Law, and therefore no temple practices are required for Christians or followers of Christ.

Neither in the Book of Mormon or New Testament do we read of any further required temple works.

The Lord documents all of the prayers and ordinations in both the Book of Mormon and Book of Commandments.

Blacks and the Priesthood

Did you know JS gave a black man the priestood?

Before racist ideas of men entered the early church, JS ordained Elijah Abel, an American of African decent to the office of an Elder, the highest office of the “High Priesthood.”

Christ is our only High Priest, and Old Testament High Priests were pointing to Christ. Now, we all can act in the “High Priesthood”, which is teaching of Christ!

Book of Mormon
Alma teaches about what the "Priesthood" really is in Alma 13.

Acting in the High Priesthood is “to teach his commandments unto the children of men,…” (13:6).  “…they were on the same standing with their brethren; thus this holy calling being prepared from the foundation of the world for such as would not harden their hearts,…” (13:5)

New Testament
Christ is our great High Priest, showing us how to act and teach.

Hebrews 4:14 “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God,…”

Be free from the sins of men, and let's follow Christ!
